via The Daily What:“…The Ruins of Detroit, a book of photos snapped by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre during seven week-long visits to Detroit between 2005 and 2009.”They’re eerily post-apocalyptic, like the physical representation of the economic meltdown. How do things become so decrepit? Surely humans are to blame. Mother Nature by herself could never cause such horrifying decay.
This is very sad to see, and all because big corporate America left and turned a large metropolis into a crumbling ghost town. These images are stunning and being a photographer it would be a dream to go and document these places. But the injustice that happened to Detroit should never have happened…my opinion…
totally agreed.
what a weird, strange and unfortunate place it has become.
if any city needed some major attention and re-urbanization, it is detroit.
